I am a 66-year-old pensioner and have a lot of free time. I think in Polish, German, English and Russian, freely. With the exception of the latter, which I actively used for +/- 2 years only, I used German and English in my professional work, speaking and writing, with varying degrees of intensity for over 20 years. By education I am a non-kosher, have no diploma, mechanical engineer. For almost 60 years I have accumulated such knowledge and experience that - apart from highly specialized jargon and pseudo-scientific gibberish - I really understand the meaning and content of scientific texts (physics, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry), popular science, technics, engineering, ordinary informative, descriptive, fictional, entertaining, etc., written in the above mentioned languages (Russian in writing, outside of school, I did not use). Among the numerous activities that I am diversifying my well-deserved retirement there are also profitable ones, including Polish <=>German<=>English translation, in every possible combination, done with good results. Since I treat translation more as an interesting hobby than as a paid job, I reserve the right to choose an assignment (I do not translate boring texts). At the request of the Honorable Customer and according to his needs/guidelines, I can create my own texts in Polish, German or English, if the subject matter is of interest to me, of course. As my text archive is quite large and covers a very wide range of topics, I do not include any files in this portfolio. On request, I will promptly deliver the most similar to the desired.
