Job description
Established in 2006, PediaPress is a firm renowned for its enduring collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation, aimed at transforming wiki content into printed books. Central to this partnership is the development of open-source software to streamline the transformation of wiki content across various media platforms and applications. The company's unique service works with all websites based on Mediawiki, the software used by Wikipedia and numerous other wikis. The service allows users to curate their own collections of wiki articles, which they can subsequently arrange and order through PediaPress as individually tailored printed books.

Python (mwlib, render engines, internal services)

Primary responsibilities and tasks:
finish the upgrade of all Python code from 2 to 3,
clean up the code base
Possible in the future:
relaunch PediaPress website
create a modern UI for building collections and ordering books directly from the PediaPress website
Essential skills:
experience in Python & Django and their older versions
experience in working with legacy code
code quality assurance; familiarity with code quality metrics in Python
architectural skills
self-management
ability to follow a certain workflow with Wiki and data
the level of English to communicate with the owner freely
Nice to have:
experience/background or interest in books and print design.
