Job description
We require a mobile app that will allow the user basic control of a number of features and also readouts from sensors around the vehicle. Our Client's new system (System) is interconnected using a proprietary automotive network. To enable a mobile device to connect to this network, our Client is currently developing a Bluetooth LE to the System adaptor (Adaptor). The Adaptor will handle all communications with the proprietary network and store a capture of the current system status that can then be requested over Bluetooth. Similarly any controls changed over Bluetooth will be pushed to the System network by the Adapter. The Adapter is based on the Laird BL600 module.
The App is required to perform the following functions:
• Control of Master On/Off switch: This is used to disconnect all non-essential appliances from the power supply to save battery power.
• Control Master Lights switch: This is used to turn off all lights in the living space.
• Control Awning Light: This is a light on the outside of a caravan, typically above the door.
• Control Pump settings: Select between various pump options e.g. internal pump, external pump and Fill tank settings.
• Control Battery Power source between “leisure” and “Vehicle” batteries.
• Control Thermostat and Fuel source of the space heater (central heating)
• Control Fuel source of the water Heater (boiler)
• Display readouts of internal and external temperature
• Display readout of Leisure battery voltage and current
• Display readouts of Vehicle battery voltage and current
• Display readouts of 12v and 230v load current
• Display fresh and waste water tank levels
• Display various warning events such as low battery, Fuses blown, Low water tank levels.
The app will need to manage the pairing of the Bluetooth connection and ideally, automatically detect the correct configurations for the users vehicle thus making user setup as simple as possible.
