Job description
This job is FOR PREQUALIFIED PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY, do not apply if you have not been in touch with RunPixie beforehand.
The gig requires about 3-4 hours of work, and involves taking approximately 11,000 pictures at the Boston Marathon at a location mutually agreed with us. The number of photos is approximate, and based on a typical number of pictures taken at one spot during a sports event with such a number of participants (40 thousand runners!).
After completing the job, you will need to upload the photos to our server (or Google Drive) ASAP - each hour matters. If before the race we agree that your upload speed is too slow, we'll have to equip you with an SD card, take it after the race and upload on our own. In any case, if your camera allows it, make sure you save a backup of the photos.
PHOTO TAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Required: We shoot only JPEG - the files do not go to post-processing but will be uploaded immediately after the race.
Suggested: 1/500 shutter speed as a minimum, as we’ll have a few more "misses" (blur) when the speeds are lower than that. Shutter priority, keeping ISO at 400 or below.
Please change the file naming on your camera so that it starts with your initials (preferably three letters, e.g., the first letter of the first name and two letters of the last name, so Julius Cesar would have, for example, the “JCE_DSC_1702.JPG” file). This is a precaution so that we do not overwrite each other's files during upload.
