Experienced Django backend developer

Idea Maker is a growing web and mobile app agency located in Orange County, CA, USA. The agency provides a range of products to businesses to support both their development and current needs.

We are a technical group that is focused on providing excellent quality to our clients through continuous improvement of processes and development . We come from all kinds of backgrounds / nationalities.

We work primarily with cloud technologies and Python( Django) as well as Javascript ( VueJs ) for our bread and butter applications.

We are currently looking for an experienced backend developer (3 years +) to handle some overflow. Mostly bug fixes on existing projects. However, we hope to establish a working relationship with a skilled developer and this could turn into full time work in the future.

Due to time zones and some legal constraints we prefer candidates from Canada, Americas, or Europe.

Technical

Candidates should be well versed in Python (Django), as well as various payment and global api integrations such as Stripe or Google cloud

What we expect

3 years of experience in Python with Django and Django Rest Framework.

Experience in relational Databases.

Experience using Git and Git workflows for source control management.

Experience working with backend services (REST APIs, Client-Server architecture, etc).

Ability to effectively design solutions to technical challenges.

Ability and interest with keeping up to date with the latest developments and being challenged.

Decent English, written and verbal. Good communication skills.

A team player who can work well in an agile environment.

Nice to have

Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.

Experience with AWS, Kubernetes and Docker.

Experience or knowledge of a CI/CD pipeline (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery).

Offering $20-$30/hr based on experience.
