TO DO list- what to do to connect lead magnet on website (wordpress) + set up emails in mailchimp

I need a to-do list/instructions on what to do one at a time (not to do it physically, just to make a TO list) to

1. connect a lead magnet to the site - after a certain amount of time that the user spends on the site, a pop up window appears, with an incentive to leave an email in exchange for downloading the 1st part of the e-book (option to download immediately after confirming the email, or send an email with the e-book after confirmation)

2. emails are saved in mailchimp (hooked up to the newsletter plugin at the moment)

3. automation: after a week of downloading the ebook, we send the 2nd part of it already from the email

I need instructions on what to do one by one.

I am anxious to hear from people who physically do this themselves. I would love to see examples of lead magnet implementations
