Photography is a living, breathing medium, and a global vernacular that is accessible regardless of education, status, race, or viewpoint. Because humans are, first and foremost, emotional creatures, photography often breaks through barriers that words cannot.

I am especially inspired by photographs that take something ordinary, perhaps a scene that I drive by every single day without noticing, and project it in a unique way that makes me see with more than just my eyes. A single striking image can even change the course of history.

My own photography inspires me each time I get behind the camera to put more of myself and my personal experience into the act, producing an image that will not only speak to the viewer about the subject, but will also whisper something about the photographer, creating a more powerful, moving, and, above all, lasting collective experience.
