Opis zlecenia
We are looking for an experienced developer to fix and update a Visual Studio program that downloads eBay auction webpages to a local drive for offline access. The program is designed to save webpages and their corresponding images based on data provided in an Excel file. The program has been non-functional for several months, likely due to changes on eBay's platform, and needs to be updated and debugged. The original developer is no longer available, and certain modifications were not completed.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and debug the existing Visual Studio program (source files are available, 164MB).
Update the program to handle any changes in eBay’s webpage structure or protocols.
Ensure the program downloads web pages and saves them locally, with the following structure:
Webpages saved as one file with the format: SKU-name.
Pictures saved in a subfolder named by the SKU number, keeping the original size and quality.
The program should read from an Excel file with 3 columns: web link, name, and SKU number.
Ensure all pictures are downloaded to a subfolder and match their respective SKU number.
Complete any unfinished modifications from the previous developer.
Requirements:
Strong experience with Visual Studio and .NET programming.
Familiarity with web scraping techniques and handling changes in webpage structures.
Experience with downloading and managing images from web pages.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to pick up where the previous developer left off.
Deliverables:
A fully functional program that downloads and saves eBay auction webpages and associated images.
Code updates, documentation, and an explanation of any changes made to ensure future compatibility.
Delivery language - english or polish.
