I will outsource the updating of a WordPress-based website theme to the latest version and the updating of WordPress itself to a newer version.
Apart from the updates themselves, I need a step-by-step instruction on how to make such updates safely by myself in the future (a document in a text editor or Google docs).
The instruction should be precise (it should contain all necessary steps), clear and written in understandable language. It should be tailored to the site on which the updates were made. One part of it should contain instructions for performing a secure theme update and the other part should contain instructions for performing a secure WordPress update.
