Audit/migration of old website

I will commission an audit of a website made a very (very) long time ago. It is currently on a VPS and running in the old environment, however, it would be useful to update the software, which may end up with the website not being usable.

So I need the website to be copied to another hosting and tested under current conditions, and if there was a problem using it (I expect there would be), I need it removed or at least the problem diagnosed.
